Misplaced Faith

Before I was saved I had some faith in God, some faith in churches, some faith in ceremonies, some faith in pastors and their works, some faith in myself and my good works, some faith in others and their good works, and so on. Faith in things other than God can be beneficial but not for salvation. For salvation 100 percent of our faith must be in God because He does 100% of the saving and we do 100% of the sinning. Faith in churches or mortal men or ceremonies or anything else anyone else or the work of anyone else for salvation is misplaced faith.

2 Peter 1:3 According as HIS DIVINE POWER hath given unto us ALL THINGS that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

All things means 100%. There are many elements of salvation that only God can provide. One of those elements is His divine Power.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth IN HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life.

IN HIM is a very limiting phrase.

John 1:12 But AS MANY AS RECEIVED HIM, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even TO THEM THAT BELIEVE ON HIS NAME:

AS MANY AS RECEIVED HIM and TO THEM THAT BELIEVE ON HIS NAME are very limiting phrases.

John 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, NOR OF THE WILL OF MAN, BUT OF GOD.

Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

To be continued.
